Multnomah County to host capital projects showcase

On Friday June 24, 2016, Multnomah County will host a capital projects showcase at OAME(Oregon Association of Minority Entrepreneurs) at 731 N Hayden Meadows Drive in North Portland.  Small business owners and members of the public are encouraged to attend and learn about the County’s capital projects and opportunities available for each project. The event is part of a continuing effort to reach out to local businesses and those owned by minorities and women, in an effort to increase workforce diversity on the County’s capital projects.  It will follow the OAME Coffee and Issues meeting from 7:00 to 8:30 at OAME, where Chair Deborah Kafoury will present on behalf of Multnomah County, who is sponsoring this month’s meeting.

The Multnomah County Capital Projects Showcase

This showcase will feature representatives from all of the County’s project teams and other construction related initiatives. Come meet project team members and learn about opportunities and project information for: • The Central Courthouse Project • The Health Department Headquarters Project • The Broadway Bridge Rehabilitation Project • The Morrison Bridge Deck Project • The County Sheriff’s Building Project • The Walnut Park Rehabilitation Project • County Transportation Projects • Job Order Contracting Pilot Program And much, much more!

Representatives from the Certification Office for Business Inclusion & Diversity (COBID, formerly the Office of Minority, Women & Emerging Small Business — OMWESB) will be on hand to provide assistance and information on how to become a certified business in the State of Oregon. The Showcase will start immediately following the OAME Coffee & Issues Meeting.
