TRAFFIC ALERT: This week there will be directional lane closures on the Hawthorne Bridge for ongoing maintenance and paving work. Expect traffic delays.
Westbound lanes
Westbound vehicular lanes on the Hawthorne Bridge will close at 2:00 p.m. today, Monday, Oct. 7. The westbound vehicular lanes and sidewalk will reopen at 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Pedestrians will be directed to use the eastbound sidewalk. Cyclists will be directed to a detour. There will be flaggers on the bridge directing traffic.
These closures are weather dependent and are subject to change. Plan ahead for your commute and use alternative routes.
Eastbound lanes
Eastbound vehicular lanes will close at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8. The eastbound vehicular lanes and sidewalk will reopen at 11:00 a.m. each following morning. Pedestrians will be directed to use the westbound sidewalk. Cyclists will be directed to a detour. There will be flaggers on the bridge directing traffic.
