Multnomah County Medical Examiner identifies one suspected heat-related death during August 2025 heatwave

Multnomah County, Ore. (Aug. 14, 2025) — The Multnomah County Medical Examiner’s Office on Thursday, Aug. 14, reported it is investigating a suspected heat-related death that occurred Aug. 13, 2025. 

The person was a 59-year-old male and found in the 97233 ZIP code.

No other details are being released or are available at this time.

The death is still considered a suspected case and is under investigation as a potential heat-related death. 

Investigators say confirmation will not be complete for several weeks to months. Further tests and investigation will determine whether the death is officially heat-related. The death may be found to have had other causes.
