TRAFFIC ALERT: On Tuesday, Dec. 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. expect traffic delays on the Stark Street Bridge. There will be single-lane closures on the bridge for crews conducting survey work. Traffic control signs and flaggers will direct traffic during these hours. Expect short-term delays.
This work is part of Multnomah County’s Stark Street Bridge Replacement Project. The current crossing over the Sandy River serves as a critical connection for East County residents and access to the scenic Columbia River Gorge. It’s more than 110 years old and at the end of its service life.
This project will evaluate potential options for replacing the existing bridge with a new structure that integrates seamlessly into the natural area, while meeting modern design and safety standards.
