NEWS RELEASE: All registered voters should have received their ballots for the May 19, 2026 Primary Election

Multnomah County, Ore. (May 7, 2026) — All eligible voters should have received their ballots for the May 19, 2026, Primary Election by today, Thursday, May 7, 2026.

Voters who have not yet received a ballot or who need a replacement ballot should contact Multnomah County Elections as soon as possible. Find regular and extended office hours by clicking here

Voters can call the Elections Division at 503-988-VOTE (8683) or go online and obtain a ballot through Elections’ convenient Order Ahead Replacement Ballot Service. Voters who use this online service can either avoid or shorten a visit to either of Elections’ two voter service sites.

Voters using the Order Ahead Replacement Ballot Service can:

  1. Ask to have a replacement ballot mailed to their residence, or
  2. Request a replacement ballot for in-person pickup at a “will call” window. Will call service is available at the Voting Center Express (600 N.E. 8th St., Gresham, inside the Multnomah County East Building) and the Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building (1040 S.E. Morrison St., Portland).

Two choices to return your ballot

Voters have two ways to return ballots.

Voters can return their ballot to any Official Ballot Drop Box in the state. Multnomah County provides more than 30 Official Ballot Drop Boxes, including 24-hour Multnomah County Library Drop Sites and boxes at both of Multnomah County’s voter services centers. Find a drop box using our interactive map.

Multnomah County Official Ballot Drop Sites are also listed at multco.us/dropsites. More information can also be found in the Multnomah County Voters’ Pamphlet. (Please note some ballot drop boxes have moved due to voter-approved Library construction closures.)

Voters can also mail their ballots, with no postage required!

Anyone considering mailing their ballot should do so no later than Thursday, May 14, Multnomah County Elections recommends. Mailing a ballot no later than May 14, will help ensure it is postmarked and received by an elections office in time to be counted.

After May 14, voters are encouraged to request a manual postmark at their local Post Office. Check hours and locations first.

However you want to mail in your ballot, make a plan to ensure it’s postmarked by Election Day — or better yet, before — Election Day.

Track Your Ballot available in multiple languages

It’s never too late to sign up for Multnomah County Elections’ popular Track Your Ballot service! Sign up at multnomah.ballottrax.net.

Voters can receive ballot alerts in English, Spanish, Russian, Somali, Ukrainian, Vietnamese or Chinese.

Text, email or voice alerts will tell voters when their ballots are in the mail and then later when their voted ballots have been received.

Alerts also indicate whether ballots have been accepted for counting or whether further action is required by the voter. “Accepted Ballot” messages also include a virtual Oregon “I Voted” sticker ready to share on social media.

Extended hours for voter assistance start Wednesday, May 13

As Election Day approaches, Multnomah County Elections will offer weekend and evening hours for voter assistance at both the Voting Center Express in downtown Gresham (600 N.E. 8th St.) and the Multnomah County Duniway-Lovejoy Elections Building in Southeast Portland (1040 S.E. Morrison St.).
