July 24-28

On Friday, July 24 starting at 9:00 p.m. through Tuesday, July 28 at 5:00 a.m. the Morrison Bridge will be closed to all motorized vehicles for bridge strengthening work. The bridge will remain open to cyclists and pedestrians during this closure.

Plan ahead for your commute and use alternative routes

This work is part of the Morrison Bridge Strengthening Project. The project is adding titanium rebar to strengthen the S.E. Morrison Street and S.E. Belmont Street approach ramps on the east side of the Morrison Bridge. This will remove the weight restrictions that prevent heavy trucks from using the bridge and keep it safe for modern freight trucks and other vehicles to cross. Crews will also repair the bearings and motors that lift and lower the bridge lift span. These updates will keep the bridge in good working order.
