Bridge Pedal event to impact traffic next weekend

The Providence Bridge Pedal event next weekend will impact traffic on several bridges maintained by Multnomah County.

Hawthorne Bridge

On Sunday, Aug. 9 starting at 4:00 a.m. the south sidewalk, all eastbound vehicular traffic lanes, the center westbound traffic lane and the S.E. Water Avenue ramp will be closed for the event until 2:00 p.m. that day.

***Please note, the steel grating on the Hawthorne bridge will not be covered with plywood this year. Please use caution while riding across the steel grating. There will be ramps in place to transition from the roadway to the sidewalk in advance of the steel grating for those who wish to avoid the steel grating. The Kids Pedal will be directed to use the sidewalk only.***

Morrison Bridge

On Sunday, Aug. 9 from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. the S.W. Naito Parkway on-ramp, all eastbound traffic lanes and the S.E. Water Ave. ramp will be closed for the event.

Sellwood Bridge

On Sunday, Aug. 9 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. the south sidewalk and bike lane will be closed for the event. Cyclists and pedestrians not participating in the event will be detoured to use the north sidewalk and bike lane.
