About

Alyssa grew up in Northeast Portland and is a proud graduate of Parkrose High School and Portland State University. She has a background in education leadership, project management, and policy advocacy with over a decade of dedicated service to students and families. Throughout her career she has specialized in designing inclusive systems, leading large-scale educational initiatives, and working in coalition with impacted community members to establish equitable practices within complex organizations.

Alyssa began as an elementary reading teacher, where she worked closely with her principal to expand access to community resources for students and families. Though she has gone on to lead professional learning for adults and project manage key initiatives, ensuring youth and families have equitable access to education services remains her passion. She is committed to centering community voices, removing systemic barriers, and driving meaningful policy advocacy in public service.

Alyssa lives in the Portland area with her husband and two dogs. Outside of work you will likely find her spending time with her niece, or supporting her neighborhood library. She holds a M.Ed in Elementary Education, and a M.Ed in Education Leadership, both from Arizona State University.
