As the Community Involvement Committee Coordinator, KellyAnn (who also goes by KA and uses they/them or she/her pronouns), connects community members with volunteer opportunities throughout Multnomah County, staffs the Community Involvement Committee and supports other work of the office. They are especially passionate about housing, economic justice, and engaging in work towards collective liberation.
KA comes to the Office of Community Involvement after holding positions in social services working as a Domestic Violence Housing Advocate at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization (IRCO) in Portland and as a Case Aide at Thrive, a LGBTQIA+ youth shelter in San Antonio, TX. KA also brings experience in supporting coalitions and community organizing as a Refugee Lead Poisoning Prevention Coalition Coordinator with the Childhood Lead Action Project in Providence, RI and as a Program Assistant with Oregon Physicians for Social Responsibility here in Portland.
KellyAnn lives in outer Southeast Portland with her partner, ‘teenaged’ puppy, assorted housemates and guests, occasional foster animals, and many plants. Outside of work she enjoys learning Spanish and ASL, getting together with friends, and reading good books.
