Senior Grants Coordinator
Sheri began as senior grants coordinator in Multnomah County’s Office of Government Relations in February 2013 after 12 years as a local and national consulting grant writer. In that role, she gained experience developing large funding proposals for programs in K-12 and higher education, health, substance abuse, mental health, workforce development and community organizing.
Her love of grant writing stems from more than 20 years of building programs for vulnerable populations and learning that even the best ideas need money to launch. She holds a master’s degree in social work from San Diego State University and has worked as a Child Protective Services worker. She also started Impact Northwest’s Parent Child Development Center in Southeast Portland, and directed workforce development programs at Portland Community College.
When not writing at her computer, Sheri loves spending time with her husband and two children (and guinea pigs and dog), kayaking, hiking, and trying to come up with a new adventure to plan – hopefully in a country far, far away.
