About
Sara joined the staff of Chair Vega Pederson in late 2022. She was raised in Ohio and New Mexico and received a BA in Writing from Miami University, an MA in Literature from Case Western Reserve and an applied degree in writing, publishing and television production working for Encyclopedia Britannica, Lieutenant Governor Corinne Wood, Apple Computer and Harpo Studios. Since moving to Portland in 2004, Sara has produced or written for the Lewis & Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling, Write Around Portland, Sockeye, Swaim Strategies and OK You and served as a longtime visiting writer for the Pacific Northwest College of Art. She has managed programs and facilitated writing experiences for people at all stages of life and in the service of healing many challenging circumstances and traumas.
Sara lives in North Portland and is an avid reader, poet, editor, teacher/facilitator and community-builder who serves on the board of Write Around Portland, as a Delve Guide and member of the Development Council for Literary Arts, as a curator with Northwest Narrative Medicine Collective and as an active Senior Fellow of American Leadership Forum of Oregon. She enjoys international travel and has lived abroad with her family in Cape Town, South Africa and Moshi, Tanzania.
