All food service workers in Oregon must obtain food handler’s certification within 30 days of their hire date (OAR 333-175). To get certified, you must pass the food handler’s test, either online or at our office.
Tests and training materials are available in multiple languages. Allow 40 minutes to watch the video and 20 minutes for the test.

Study for the Test
Study the food handler manual. You can pick up a printed copy from our office. You can also watch a training video in our office (available in multiple languages).
Take the Test
Online
You will need an email address and credit card. Once you've passed the test, you may print your food handler card from the website. Take the test»
In Person
Call us for hours. Bring a photo ID and the $10 fee (cash only). You can take a written or audio test (on compact disc). You may watch a training video in our office before taking the test (required for the audio test).
