WIC is a public health nutrition program for women, infants and children. We help families get healthy foods they need for good growth and development.
- Pregnant women can get WIC until 2 months after delivery.
- Breastfeeding women can get WIC for up to 1 year after delivery.
- Women who have given birth but are not breastfeeding can get WIC until 6 months after delivery.
- Children are evaluated every 6 months for eligibility, and can get WIC until they are 5 years old.

- Breastfeeding support
- Breast pumps (in certain cases)
- Information and referral about other health programs and social services
How WIC Helps
- Women on the WIC program eat better, have healthier babies and receive earlier prenatal care.
- Infants born to WIC mothers weigh more and grow and develop better.
- Children on WIC eat foods with more iron and vitamin C, visit their doctors more regularly and receive shots on time.
Who Can Get WIC
To qualify, you must:
- Live in Oregon
- Be a woman who is pregnant or has just given birth, an infant or a child under 5 years old
- Meet income guidelines
- Have a nutritional need or risk
Dads, guardians and foster parents can apply for WIC for their children.
You do not have to be a U.S. citizen to get WIC services.
