State Benefits

In the state of Oregon there are a number of benefit packages that are available for former military members.

Aside from federal benefits that are afforded to the country's veterans, each individual state also takes measures to provide for its former service members. In the state of Oregon there are a number of benefit packages that are available for former military members.

Below are links to state benefits that are available to you and/or your family members. An Accredited County Veterans Service Officer will be able to describe these benefits in detail as well as assist you in obtaining them. Please contact our office to schedule an appointment at 503-988-8387.

  • Oregon State Benefits - Includes education, home loans, emergency assistance, license plates, hunting and fishing license, and more.
  • Veteran Property Tax Exemption - Grants an exemption to qualified disabled veterans with a disability rating of 40 percent or greater. For more details, please contact Multnomah County's Assessment and Taxation office.
  • Oregon Veteran Homes - Oregon has two Veterans' Homes, located in The Dalles and Lebanon. These homes provide long-term health care for honorably discharged veterans, their spouses and parents who had a child die while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.
