All Operators, Resident Managers, and Shift Managers must attend the Adult Care Home Program (ACHP)-approved diversity training, Emergency Preparedness Planning, and Record Keeping “Part B – Medication Management” within the first year of licensure or approval. In addition, those serving residents served by ADSVD and MHA or privately paying older adults or people with disabilities must take Recording Keeping “Part A – Screening and Care Planning,” and those serving residents funded by DDSD must take the "Fatal Four" classes.

Required First-Year Training For Operators and Resident Managers:

Honoring Diversity: 3-hour training required for new Operators and Resident Managers within the first year. Qualifies for 3 CEU's. Fee is $30. Scheduled trainings: Weds. May 30th, 2018 1:30-4:30; Weds. August 29, 2018, 1:30-4:30; and Weds. November 21, 2018. 1:30-4:30. Email us to sign up for the Honoring Diversity training; please include your preferred date.

Record Keeping Part A - Screening and Care Planning: 3-hour training required for new APD and MHA licensed Operators and Resident Managers within the first year (not required for DD). Qualifies for 3 CEU's. Fee is $30. Scheduled trainings: Weds. July 18, 2018; Weds. Fatal Four: DD operators and resident managers must complete the "Fatal Four" class in their first year.  This 2.5 hour live, on-line class is available through iLearn. Upcoming dates are available July 11, 2018; September 12, 2018; and November 7, 2018. Additional classes will be scheduled throughout the year. Sign up is available here. In addition, this training may be offered in-person by various providers throughout the year. ACHP will accept in-person or iLearn trainings.

Provider Meetings: Optional monthly trainings on a range of relevant topics, featuring guest trainers. Providers can choose to attend trainings that are of interest to them. Each ACHP-sponsored provider meeting qualifies for 3 continuing education units (CEUs). Fee is $30.

DD Documentation - ISPs, Protocols, Safety Plans: The Oregon Office of Developmental Disabilities Services provides funding to OTAC to maintain a website with DD-specific forms and instructions, and to provide in-person and online trainings for providers serving adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. ​​Record Keeping Part B - Medication Management for Caregivers: 3.5-hour optional training for caregivers (may be required in some situations). Not open to Resident Managers and Operators. Qualifies for 3.5 CEU's. Free for caregivers. These trainings are offered 1:30-5:00 pm (doors open at 1:00) Thurs. May 24, 2018 (full); Thurs. June 20, 2018; Mon., June 25, 2018; Thurs. July 26, 2018; Thurs. August 23, 2018; Weds. September 26, 2018; Weds. October 3, 2018; Weds. October 7, 2018; Weds. December 19, 2018.


Other Continuing Education Resources:

To qualify for CEU's, all classes or trainings must be approved by the State of Oregon's Adult Foster Home Training Credit Committee or by the Multnomah County Adult Care Home Program. Make sure the trainings are approved for the population you are licensed to serve.
