Multnomah County Justice Fellowship - This fellowship is a 4 month leadership/civic engagement opportunity for members of our community who are interested in criminal justice policy. A cohort of 10 justice fellows will meet weekly to learn about each component of the public safety system; from 911 to parole and grant writing to activism. The ultimate goal is to integrate fellows into policy and program discussions, fostering a broader network of community experts ready to contribute to decision-making tables. Applications accepted January 15 through February 5, 2024.

The Disability Services Advisory Council is seeking new members. The Council advises on basic policy guidelines for those individuals inquiring about, applying for, or receiving services and to review and evaluate the effectiveness of the services provided by ADVSD.
Oregon Historical Society Levy Oversight Committee is seeking East County residents to join the committee, which ensures accountability for the expenditure of levy funds approved by voters, and advises and supports the Oregon Historical Society in ensuring that its board, partnerships, staff, exhibits and programs proactively represent Multnomah County’s diverse communities. Multnomah County’s Land Use Planning Division is seeking two East Multnomah County residents to serve as volunteer members on the Multnomah County Planning Commission. The Planning Commission addresses land use planning for unincorporated (mostly rural) areas of the county in order to meet state planning requirements, County policies and state law. The Planning Commission typically makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners for adoption, revision or repeal of components of the Comprehensive Plan, zoning code and other regulatory ordinances intended to carry out the plan as adopted by the board. The application period will open on February 15th for 3 weeks.
The Gresham-Barlow School District’s Oasis Volunteer Program is looking for adults willing to work with young children who are struggling to learn to read. They are seeking volunteers who can spend one hour a week, during the school day, working one-on-one with students in grades 1-5.
