Regulations and resources for businesses, how to file a complaint

Oregon's Smoke Free Workplace Law prohibits smoking in almost all public places and workplaces, including:

  • Bars
  • Bars in restaurants
  • Bingo halls
  • 75 percent of hotel and motel rooms

In addition, smoking is not permitted within 10 feet of any entrance, exit, window or air intake vent.

This applies to:

  • Public places: Any enclosed area open to the public.
  • Places of employment: Any enclosed area under the control of a public or private employer that employees frequent during the course of employment.

To make a complaint

If you observe or note a possible violation of the law, you can report it to the Oregon Public Health Division for investigation and further action. Make a complaint online»
