"Tholanda Newborne has been an active volunteer with the Multnomah County Health Department’s Healthy Birth Initiative (HBI) for the past three years. She has served as the co-chair and chairperson of the HBI Consortium and currently serves as a member of the HBI Community Action Network Leadership Group and the HBI Reproductive Life Planning Tool Work Group.
Tholanda has also served as a peer support person through the Seeking Safety program, often facilitating the group meetings. She is always happy to help out with the planning, preparation and implementation of all HBI events and activities and has volunteered to staff HBI information tables at community events and health fairs. She went to the National Healthy Start Conference as a consumer representative and spoke with Congressional representatives about the importance of HBI services. Tholanda is an excellent program advocate who is always available to assist HBI in any way!"
