Job description

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Schedule vehicle reservations; evaluate available inventory and demand in order to assign vehicles; coordinate with outside vendors; input motor pool use and parking activity data into database.
  • Perform on­site maintenance and minor repair of vehicles, including inspecting and filling of oil, fuel, tire pressure, snow traction devices, fluids, wiper blades, batteries, and other minor mechanical parts; wash and clean interior and exterior of vehicles.
  • Track and schedule maintenance and repair work with fleet shops; deliver vehicles for service and repairs; pick up parts and supplies; update and maintain records.
  • Implement motor pool and parking policies and procedures; provide education and training on electric vehicle use; promote awareness of the motor pool program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Receive general supervision from manager or staff.

Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. Requirements are determined at the time of recruitment based on responsibilities of the individual position and business needs of the department.

Motor Pool Attendant

Training and experience for entry level, trades classifications are typically equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade and up to one (1) year of experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. (Equivalency 0-1 years of qualifying training and/or experience).

Depending upon assignment, candidates may be required to pass a criminal background check, have a valid driver license, and/or additional training, licenses, or certificates.
