The Multnomah Youth Commission’s Transit Equity and Environmental Advocacy committee is deeply concerned with the critical issue of climate change and its disproportionately large impact on historically marginalized people, especially low-income families and youth displaced into high-pollution areas by gentrification and infrastructure improvements within Multnomah, Washington, and Clackamas counties.
With generous support from the Oregon Community Foundation and the Joseph E. Weston Public Fund we will be issuing grants starting at $1,000 and up to $5,000 to community or youth-led organizations focused on improving the lives of youth with projects geared towards reducing the impacts of the climate crisis through education, direct action, or organizing. Projects that are led or co-led by youth (ages 13-21) will be prioritized.
