Community invited to free Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Information Fair on Thursday, May 22, 2025
Nearly 8,000 residents with neurodiversity invited to connect with local services
Multnomah County, Ore. (May 1, 2025) — People with neurodiversity who have differences in learning and perception are invited to attend Multnomah County’s free annual fair on May 22, 2025 to connect with local services.
The Multnomah County Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services Division (IDDSD) is pleased to announce its annual Information Fair on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 12 PM to 5:00 PM. The event will take place at the DHS Conference and Training Center, located at 11826 NE Glisan Street in Portland, Oregon. This year's theme is "Nothing about us, without us," and admission is free for all attendees.
Serving nearly 8,000 individuals in Multnomah County, including those with autism, cerebral palsy, or intellectual disabilities, the County is hosting this fair to connect consumers and interested individuals with a variety of local service providers. Representatives from Vocational Rehabilitation, brokerage agencies, and personal support services will be present to discuss resources such as:
- Attendant Care
- Professional Behavioral Support Services
- Day Support Activities
- Voting Registration
- Employment
- Transportation
In addition to the community provider tables, there will be games and prizes for attendees. Attendees can enjoy these activities while learning about the various resources and services available to them.
The DHS Conference and Training Center is conveniently located near MAX and Trimet bus stops, and parking is free for attendees. Advance registration is not required, so anyone interested in accessing services via the Multnomah County Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities program can come and discover a wide array of resources that are available to them.
“I am excited that our organization can offer again our annual Resource Fair. It is a cornerstone event for Multnomah County Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities services, the largest county developmental disability program in the state. It provides a crucial platform for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, and caregivers to access vital information and support,” said Division Director Alexis Alberti.
This year's Resources Fair offers an unparalleled opportunity for government agencies, non-profit organizations, and other service providers to connect directly with the community. By participating, organizations can share information about available resources and services, network with other organizations and build collaborative partnerships, increase awareness of their programs and initiatives, and offer on-site assistance and answer questions directly from community members.
The Resources Fair is invaluable to the community by providing a centralized location for accessing diverse resources, empowering individuals and families to make informed decisions, facilitating connections with support networks and services, and enhancing the overall quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
