Multnomah County will light the Morrison Bridge in a rainbow color scheme starting tonight to honor the victims of Sunday's mass shooting in Orlando. The 2016 Pride Northwest Festival and Parade had previously arranged for the rainbow lights to begin on June 17, to celebrate the Pride Northwest Festival and the Pride Parade on June 18 and June 19. The rainbow bridge lighting display will now appear from June 13 - 19.
In a message to Multnomah County employees following the tragedy in Orlando, County Chair Deborah Kafoury said "I ask you to embrace the rich diversity of our community and to look ahead to Pride week with love and support."
