Multnomah County’s Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services Division (IDDSD) is excited to announce its annual Information Fair on Thursday, May 25. The event will be held at the Airport Embassy Suites Hotel in Portland and will run from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The fair is themed “Discover and Thrive” and is free for all attendees.
The Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Services Division (IDDSD) serves more than 6,600 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy or an intellectual disability diagnosed prior to the age of 22.
The Information Fair is an opportunity for people who are interested in IDDSD's services or already receiving them to meet with more than 40 service providers. Providers will be available to discuss an array of resources, such as:
- residential options,
- summer activities,
- employment and training,
- educational opportunities,
- transportation,
- day activities,
- relief care, and more.
In addition to the informative booths, the fair will feature several family-friendly activities including a scavenger hunt, a wheel spin for prizes, and a selfie photo booth. Attendees can enjoy these activities while learning about the various resources and services available to them.
The Airport Embassy Suites Hotel is conveniently located near the Mt. Hood Avenue Red Line TriMet stop, and parking is free for attendees. Advance registration is not required, so anyone can come and discover the services that are available to them.
“We are excited to host this event again and provide a fun and informative environment for our clients and their families,” said IDDSD Director Alexis Alberti. “Our goal is to help people discover and thrive with the support of our many service providers.”
