SURVEY NOW LIVE: Help shape the future of the new Stark Street Bridge

Multnomah County’s Stark Street Bridge Replacement Project survey is now live. Your voice matters! The County is asking for community feedback on how you use the bridge, which will provide important data for the project team. The survey is open through June 30, 2026 and is available in English and Spanish

Your input will help Multnomah County explore and evaluate bridge type options. Late this summer, the County will share the range of bridge options and evaluation criteria under consideration.

Background

Multnomah County is leading an effort to replace the Stark Street Bridge. The current crossing over the Sandy River serves as a critical connection for East County residents and access to the scenic Columbia River Gorge. It’s more than 110 years old and at the end of its service life. This project will evaluate options for a new bridge.

This project is currently in the Environmental Review Phase. By early 2027, the County anticipates selecting a preferred alternative.

Design and construction of the bridge is contingent upon funding and is several years away. The County is actively pursuing funding opportunities to move this project forward.
