  • Emergency Preparedness Planning 
  • Record Keeping: Part B – Medication Management 
  • Honoring Diversity 
  • Fatal Four Training (providers serving I/DD residents)

If you serve APD residents, including private-pay residents, or MHA residents, you must also take:

  • Recording Keeping: Part A – Screening and Care Planning

Required Training For Operators and Resident Managers Within First Year

Honoring Diversity: This three-hour training qualifies for three Continuing Education Units. Fee is $30. Email us to sign up and include your preferred date.

Emergency Preparedness Planning: This three-hour training qualifies for three Continuing Education Units. Fee is $30. Email us to sign up and include your preferred date.

  • October 8, 2024, 9 a.m. 12:30 p.m.
  • December 10, 2024, 9 a.m. 12:30 p.m.

Record Keeping Part A - Screening and Care Planning: This three hour training required for new APD and MHA licensed operators and resident managers within the first year (not required for DD). Qualifies for 3 CEU's. Fee is $30.  Email us to sign up and include your preferred date.

  • September 10, 2024, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • November 7, 2024, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Record Keeping Part B: Medication Management for all Providers (Operators, Resident Managers, Caregivers):  This training and test is required for new operators and resident managers within the first year.

It is also required for caregivers who work in a home 20 or more hours per week or as the sole caregiver for the home. The caregiver must take this course within their first year as a caregiver and before being allowed to administer any medications.

This training qualifies for three Continuing Education Units. Fee is $30 for resident managers and operators. The course is free for caregivers. Email us or call 503-988-3000 to sign up and include your preferred date.

This training is now held in person.

Record Keeping B is full through August.

Fatal Four Training: This two and a half hour training, Fatal Four (C01237), is only for I/DD providers, and providers serving I/DD residents. For example, an APD care home that has an interagency placement of an I/DD resident. This training will take place on Workday and requires an account.

Provider Meetings:

Provider meetings are held from 1 – 4 p.m. Meetings cover a variety of relevant topics. 2024 meeting dates:

    • Toi Gibson, Multnomah County I/DD adult program supervisor, will cover:

      • Guardianship for I/DD residents
      • Differences between two kinds of I/DD assessments:
        • Support Needs Assessment Profile (SNAP)
        • Oregon Needs Assessment (ONA)

Find courses to fulfill operator, resident manager and caregiver CEU requirements. To qualify for Continuing Education Units, all classes or trainings must be approved by the State of Oregon's Adult Foster Home Training Credit Committee or by the ACHP. Make sure the trainings are approved for the population you are licensed to serve.
