Members of the Community Involvement Committee are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners for a term of three years and can serve up to two terms consecutively.
Renai Bell (she/her)
Renai works in Product Management within the software and technology sector, currently leading the development of analytics at a local nonprofit to identify and implement high-impact river conservation and restoration projects. In addition, she volunteers as a math and science tutor with the Multnomah County Library, helping adults achieve their GEDs. 1st term ends 06/27/2027
Angel Brophy (she/her), FY24 Public Safety Subcommittee Chair
Angel is a Program Coordinator/Data System Specialist with Human Solutions. Angel also volunteers her time to be a Community Health Worker for her Filipino Community to provide wrap-around services with the National Alliance for Filipino Concerns, as well as with the Pacific Coast Coalition for Seafarers. 2nd term ends 8/24/2026
Nina Gallo (she/her)
Nina Gallo is currently a student at Portland State University studying Criminology and Criminal Justice and minoring in Spanish. Originally from Southern California, Nina moved to Portland in June of 2021 and has enjoyed exploring the city. During the 2023 legislative session in Oregon, Nina provided testimony in support of House Bill 2955, which passed, designating August 4th as Bracero Program Day in Oregon. The concept for HB2955 was introduced by Nina to the Oregon Commission on Hispanic Affairs while she was a student at Portland Community College. Nina is extremely passionate about advocacy and hopes to be a part of the solution to end mass incarceration. She is a member of MEChA de PSU and enjoys reading and riding the bus. 1st term ends 06/27/2027
Lung Wah Lazum (he/him)
Lung Wah, a Community Health Director of East County Community Health which is an initiative of Rockwood CDC, blends medical and management expertise, having earned a medical degree from the University of Medicine (1), Yangon, and an MBA from George Fox University. He was born and raised in Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) and moved to the US in 2019. His background includes supporting Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Myanmar's conflict-ridden regions, where he provided healthcare services and inspired healthy behaviors. This experience ignited his passion for community health, a journey he has continued in Portland. He is also a certified community health worker, medical interpreter for the Burmese community, and Community Engagement liaison for Asian communities. Lung Wah is a vital advocate for Health Equity and Health Promotion, notably in tobacco prevention and social determinants of health (SDOH) projects, in Multnomah County and Portland. 1st term ends 6/23/2025
Jen Mair (she/her), FY24 Budget Engagement Subcommittee Co-Chair
Jen is a facilitator and community engagement practitioner who works with local, state and federal agencies to collaborate together and engage community members on challenging planning and policy issues. She previously taught Communication Studies with a focus on fostering dialogue and deliberation around relevant and challenging topics. 1st term ends 8/17/2026
Diego Martinez (he/him)
Diego works as a cashier at Bao Bao. He has previously interned with the Center for Migration, Gender and Justice and has canvassed for charter reform in Portland. 1st term ends 8/24/2026

Brian Outlaw (he/him), FY24 CIC Co-Chair
Brian O. is the Executive Director of Portland Free Play, which provides opportunities for underserved youth to play in nature. He is also an Educational Assistant at elementary schools in Portland and facilitates youth BIPOC affinity groups. 1st term ends 6/23/2025

Brain R. is a freelance book editor specializing in science, technology, and the environment. Jenny Shadley (she/her), FY24 CIC Co-Chair
Jenny is a Graphic Design Supervisor and Photographer at Clark College in Vancouver, WA, where she serves on many committees including Guided Pathways, Climate Improvement Task Force, Strategic Planning committee, and chairs the Art Selection Committee. She is also a volunteer instructor with GirlStrength, teaching self-defense to girl-identified middle schoolers. 1st term ends 9/9/2024
Ann Singer (she/her)
Ann Singer is the founder and Executive Director of Rogue Pack youth theatre in Portland. She has organized and taught storytelling theatre workshops and performances for underserved populations throughout OR since 2009. She served as Vice President on the board of Soroptimist International of Portland whose mission is to improve the lives of women and children around the world. She is currently Secretary of the Sellwood Moreland Business Association and on the board of The Portland Area Theatre Alliance. 1st term ends 06/27/2027
Pau Thang (he/him)
Thang came as a refugee in 2009 and belongs to the Zomi and Burmese community. He worked as an Asian Pacific Islander Youth Advocate at Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), connecting refugee families with resources for 2 years and currently, working as INSPIRE Program Coordinator. He is also serving as the International City/County Management Association President at Portland State University Chapter, focusing on students’ interaction with local government professionals and experts. 1st term ends 9/9/2024
