The Senate Republican’s tax bill is a cruel hoax when it comes to standing up for working families. Low-income Oregonians, students, and the middle class will suffer as a result of this bill, while corporations get a permanent tax cut.
Schools and services in Oregon will be particularly hard hit because of the progressive income tax system we use to fund our state. Additionally, this will have devastate housing for thousands of Oregonians.
It is still not too late for Congressional Republicans to pull back from the brink and work with Democrats to craft fair, sensible tax reform that will benefit the nation.
I pray that their conscience will bring them to reverse course.
