Report a Code Violation

What is the process for reporting a code violation to Code Compliance?

Verify Jurisdiction

Verify that our office has jurisdiction at a location by completing an address search using MetroMap. In order for us to investigate a complaint, the jurisdiction listed under "Political Boundaries" must be Unincorporated Multnomah County.

We are not able to accept a complaint if the address is located within a city's jurisdiction. If the listed jurisdiction is a city, please contact the city’s code enforcement program to file a complaint.

Report a Land Use or Right-of-Way Code Violation

The majority of code violations investigated by the Code Compliance Program are first reported through community-generated complaints using our Online Complaint Form or by leaving a voice message at 503-988-5508.

*If leaving a voice message, please include your name, address, the address of the alleged code violation, and indicate if you would like the report to be marked confidential.
