About

In May of 2024, I was honored by the voters of East Multnomah County who elected me to represent them as Multnomah County Commissioner for District 4. With this honor comes a significant responsibility and I intend to be vigilant in seeing to the safety and prosperity of the residents of East Multnomah County.

My personal experiences have had a profound impact on how I got here and why I originally pursued public service. These experiences exposed me to gaps and a lack of functionality within governmental agencies and the services they provide.

Growing up in Northeast Portland and raising two children in Gresham with my wife, Mesha, I have seen first hand the continuing inequities that exist in access to health care, public safety, and economic opportunities. I have also endured the loss of two brothers to gun violence. These experiences fueled my commitment to community service and advocacy.

As a member of the Gresham City Council, I championed actions to address gaps in public safety, targeting root causes of community violence, and improving services for the vulnerable, including efforts related to housing and homelessness.

I will bring a focus on fixing systems to Multnomah County, working in collaboration with the County Chair, my fellow Commissioners, and our department leadership. Together we will responsibly and expeditiously dedicate county resources to meet the needs of our communities.

Multnomah County and partnering governments have the tools and authority to increase access to services and economic opportunities. As Multnomah County District 4 Commissioner, I will be aggressive in seizing opportunities to benefit our community. I look forward to successes in this journey with my colleagues, our partners….and you!
