The Division of Assessment, Recording and Taxation (DART) is a multi-faceted organization within Multnomah County, providing a diverse set of services to the County’s 750,000-plus residents.
Our mission is to serve the public by carrying out all mandated functions with integrity, accountability, excellent customer service, accuracy and effectiveness, while strategically and prudently managing public resources.
DART’s functions include:
- Property Tax Assessment
- Property Tax Collection
- Issuing Marriage Licenses and Domestic Partnerships
- Recording Land Records
- Passport Acceptance Facility
- GIS and Cartography
DART manages special programs such as veterans exemptions and farm and forest exemptions. We also administer the State of Oregon senior and disabled deferral program and maintain information on property locations and ownership.
This year DART employees determined market and assessed values for more than 300,000 tax accounts. In addition, we will record over 160,000 documents, issue over 7,000 marriage licenses, and accept more than 10,000 passport applications.
