Our Services
Multnomah County Juvenile Services utilizes trauma-informed, restorative approach grounded in adolescent brain development to reduce reliance on detention and interrupt systemic inequities within the justice system. We are actively engaged with key reform efforts, including the Transforming Probation Initiative and the Juvenile Detention Alternatives Initiative (JDAI) to support the best outcomes for justice involved youth in our community.
We provide comprehensive Juvenile Justice Services for Youth and Families:
- Detention: Through strategic improvements in both facilities and programming, our Juvenile Detention Services ensure a safe, developmentally appropriate, and trauma-informed environment for youth in our care. Through collaboration with system partners, we have successfully and consistently reduced Multnomah County’s average daily population year-over-year.
- Court Support: We provide essential court support during the pre-adjudication period to ensure a fair, informed, and effective judicial process for youth and their families.
- Family Support (Family Resolution Services): We provide essential, court-mandated mediation for all domestic relations cases concerning child custody.
- Supervision & Intervention: We offer supportive supervision for justice-involved youth on probation, along with targeted diversion and intervention programs that steer youth away from deeper system involvement.
