This program provides an intermediate sanction for justice-involved individuals ordered to perform community service by a parole and probation officer.

Electronic Records Systems

The Alternative Community Services (ACS) system is not used to enter current information, but is still accessed for historical tracking information. Tracking information that is not duplicated in other records series should be maintained for 3 years (MOAR 166-150-0025(2)).

Alternative Community Services Client Records (ASD9-001)
Monitors client compliance with court-ordered alternative community service. Includes court disposition documents, pre-sentence investigations and background checks, compliance and termination notices, correspondence, and narrative sheets of agency client history and contacts.
Retention: Retain 2 years after case closed. (MOAR 166-150-0025(4))

Client Time Records (JSD5-002): Records documenting hours worked by accountability program clients. Information usually includes client name and social security number, hours worked, total hours, dates, and related data. Records include timesheets, monthly record of earnings, notification of program completion, and related records.
Retention: Retain 5 years. (MOAR 166-150-0155(3))

Project Contractor Records (ASD9-002)
Documents program communications with contractors providing work for people fulfilling community service obligations. Records include copies of contracts, project descriptions, work notes, and related correspondence.
Retention: Retain 1 year. (MOAR 166-150-0005(10))
