Streetlight Request

Use this form to request a new or upgraded streetlight in the Mid-County Lighting District

We provide street lighting to Maywood Park, Troutdale, Fairview and certain unincorporated areas of Multnomah County.

Before you request a streetlight:

If you live in the City of Portland, request a new streetlight here.

Use the form below to request a new streetlight or an upgrade to an existing light.

Our main goal is to maintain our existing street lights. Almost all new lights are added due to private development of new homes and businesses.

We will review your request when received. If we don’t already have plans to add or improve a light there, we will record the request and assess it in our future plans.

Alternatives to district-installed street lights

You may purchase your own outdoor area lighting. If your power provider is PGE, you may request a PGE outdoor area light.

You may also look into buying and installing other building or home lighting options such as landscape lighting, flood lights or spotlights.

If an entire neighborhood needs lighting and the district budget cannot cover the costs, the residents may form a Local Improvement District (LID). Please contact officials at the Cities of Troutdale, Maywood Park or Fairview to discuss their process for initiating a LID.

Street lights for crime problems

The District does not install street lights in response to crime.

If you have any questions on this process, please feel free to contact us at lightout@multco.us or at 503-988-9288 (WATT).
