Reeder Road culvert replacement work coming this September

On September 1, 2026, Multnomah County will start work on a permanent repair to replace the culvert on N.W. Reeder Road at Dairy Slough.

The new culvert will replace two culverts that partially collapsed in early 2022 and created large sinkholes in both lanes. The County made temporary repairs that year to reopen the road. This work will permanently repair the damage.

Traffic impacts

Crews will build a one-lane detour road around the work area to keep Reeder Road open during construction. The detour road will be in place from September 15 to December 31, 2026. The detour road will be a minimum of 12 feet wide.

A temporary stop sign will be in place for the duration of the work and flaggers will direct traffic at times. When flaggers aren't present, please use caution and treat the detour road as a two-way stop. The road is expected to reopen to two lanes in February 2027.
