REMINDER: Reeder Road culvert replacement work starts next week

Starting next Tuesday, September 15, there will be a one-lane detour road on N.W. Reeder Road near Reeder Beach as crews begin work to permanently repair two culverts. The detour road will be in place from September 15 to December 31, 2026. The detour road will be a minimum of 12 feet wide.

Temporary stop signs will be in place for the duration of the work and flaggers will direct traffic at times. When flaggers aren't present, please use caution and treat the detour road as a two-way stop. The road is expected to reopen to two lanes in February 2027.

Background

The new culvert will replace two culverts that partially collapsed in early 2022 and created large sinkholes in both lanes. The County made temporary repairs that year to reopen the road. This work will permanently repair the damage.
