- Resilience Toolkit for Youth. Developed in Scotland, this toolkit offers activities for youth programs.
- Childhood Trauma, Changing Minds - Our friends in the Multnomah County Defending Childhood Initiative shared this resource - a website chock full of videos, information about brain science, tools to support children, and more. This is a fantastic national resource, and we're lucky to have our own local resource as well in the Multnomah County Defending Childhood Initiative.
- Infographic "The 6 Shifts Needed for Better Family Engagement": "The findings of Search Institute's Don't Forget the Families Study make the case for re-examining assumptions about family engagement, the family's roles in young people's lives, and the fundamental ways schools, organizations, and systems should relate to parenting adults. The implications of this study require six shifts in how schools, youth programs, and coalitions think about family engagement."
- What Happens When Meditation Replaces School Detention: The Holistic Life Foundation, a social services nonprofit based in Baltimore, Md., has a radical solution to school detention. The Mindful Moment Room: an oasis of calm that is available during the school day
- Inspired by his favorite sports team, 5th grade English teacher Barry White Jr. created personalized handshakes for each and every one of his students.
