Commissioner Brim-Edwards
About
As Multnomah County Commissioner for District 3, Julia Brim-Edwards calls on her experience as a longtime East Port land community and business leader, parent activist, and volunteer to bring people together to find solutions to Multnomah County’s most urgent problems.
In addition to her role as Multnomah County Commissioner, Julia previously served on Portland Public School Board, led major initiatives for Nike, and served on the board for Oregon State University.
Some of Julia’s accomplishments as a Multnomah County Commissioner include getting over $25 million to open a new, permanent 24/7 Sobering and Crisis Stabilization Center, funding safe shelter sites with required good-neighbor agreements, and leading the construction a new, more humane County Animal Services Center. Also serving as Chair of the County’s Local Public Safety Coordinating Council (LPSCC), Julia has secured crucial funding for Community Corrections, the Sheriff’s Office, and District Attorney’s Office.
Julia has lived in Southeast Portland for more than 45 years, attended Glencoe Elementary, graduated from Washington-Monroe High School, and earned a BA from Oregon State University.
