Cross-System Training & Community Engagement

- LPSCC Juvenile Justice Steering Committee: Fellows served as voting members on the LPSCC JJSC, directly shaping youth justice policies.
- Conferences & Public Panels: Fellows served as featured speakers and panel leaders at major regional and national convenings. Notable engagements include co-facilitating the joint workshop "Transformational Models for Partnering with People with Lived Experience of Incarceration" alongside Bright Research Group at the Safety and Justice Challenge Conference in Chicago, as well as contributing to the national "From Lived Experience to Leadership" convening in San Francisco.
Program Governance & Peer Mentorship
- Cohort Selection & Recruitment: Program alumni evaluated applications, sat on interview panels, and selected incoming classes of fellows.
- Curriculum & Program Design: Senior fellows reviewed program structures, refined core training materials, and conducted mid-session feedback interviews to keep the curriculum responsive and community-led.
- Peer Support & Event Logistics: Fellows managed anchor day operations, coordinated event logistics, and fostered a supportive, collaborative environment for incoming cohort members.
Note for Applicants: While specific committee assignments and project opportunities evolve based on local policy needs, incoming fellows can expect to engage in similar high-level strategic work, policy advising, and peer leadership.
