Multnomah County Archives presents...Tour de Multnomah: Inner Eastside

1891 section map of Portland. It shows Section 11, an area on the east side of the Willamette River, south from Division Street to Colgate Street, which was the southern boundary of Portland at that time.

Join Multnomah County Archives on this first installment of a series of self-guided tours through the County. Each itinerary features notable (but not always noticed) locations in a certain region. We provide the route and directions for biking or taking public transportation. Along the way, you'll see items from the Archives' collections and read stories that shed light on the significance of each sight.

On the Inner Eastside segment, you'll gain a new perspective (literally in some cases) of a bygone Portland. You'll read about valiant suffragettes, a grisly murder, and more.

So power up your pedals, dust off your transit pass, or saddle up your pony. We ride!
