Thank you for your interest in serving as a volunteer advisory council member. Advisory councils play a key role in shaping the programs and services of the Aging, Disability, and Veterans Services Division. Advisory Council members shall be residents of Multnomah County, or people who work or otherwise serve older adults, people with disabilities, and Veterans in Multnomah County. 

Multnomah County is deeply committed to institutional inclusion across race, gender, culture, ability, and class. We promote equity, empowerment, and inclusion and act as change agents. Candidates from traditionally disenfranchised communities are highly encouraged to apply. Our intent is that the majority of our advisory council members will identify in one or more of these priority groups

  • Age 60+
  • People living at or below 185%  the Federal Poverty Line (which is about $29,000 for a family of two)
  • Immigrants and refugees
  • Veterans
  • LGBTQ people
  • People with disabilities
  • Racial and ethnic minorities
  • Current ADVSD clients
  • Caregivers
