Turnout updates above are posted throughout the Election as ballots are accepted. Results Results Nov 2010 General Election (191.23 KB) are available beginning at 8:00 p.m. on 11/2/2010 and continue until final official certification, no later than 11/22/2010.

Please note: Final turnout numbers are not available until certification on November 22nd. Results by precinct are available at that time.

The Oregon Secretary of State reports ballots received. Multnomah County reports ballots accepted. Ballots received includes challenge ballots. Accepted ballots are ballots where the signature has been verified and the ballot is counted.

Challenge ballots include examples such as; no signature on the return envelope, envelopes where the signature does not match or where the wrong person in the household signed the envelope. Other ballots held back include cases such as ... where two ballots were issued for a voter and the election office must determine whether only one ballot was returned.

Voters whose signatures do not match are sent a letter and have up to 10 days after the Election to update their registration. If the registration signature matches, the ballot can then be counted. The final official number will include some of the challenge ballots that are accepted. Ballots with an unsigned return envelope are never counted.

The total voter registration will decrease after undeliverable ballots are updated and the overall turnout percentage will be higher in the final certification.
