I believe that three water rate increases in one year is an absolute abuse of the rate payer at large.

The current board of directors has voted to raise water rates effective July 1998, January 1999, and July 1999 without your say so, and that has to stop. These rate increases happen with little or no notification to the rate payers and very little opportunity for input from you the rate payer.

My pledge to you as a fellow water user is that I will always say no to rate increases and demand that you be properly notified before any rate increase is voted on.

I believe the water supply we are using from Bull Run is ample for our area, and is good water. The plan in the works to hook us up with Clackamas water works is an unnecessary expense to the rate payers. Not only would we have to use water that doesn't taste as good, it wouldn't be as cold. We the rate payers will have to shell out more money for our water to cover maintainance and repairs on two water lines and filter systems as well. We can't let this happen to us. These are good reasons why you should vote for Steve McElroy for Rockwood Board of Directors Position #3. Lets keep water rates down and water quality high.
