We provide information about how to protect yourself when air quality is poor due to smoke and wildfires.

There are NO smoke emergencies or active wildfires in Multnomah County at this time. 

Please note this page will be updated: 

  • If there is a smoke emergency in Multnomah County due to poor air quality from wildfires. 
  • To share information about any evacuations from active wildfires in Multnomah County.

Respiratory symptoms are common to wildfire smoke exposure. These include dry cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing and chest pains. 

  • Contact your healthcare provider/doctor if you are experiencing symptoms.
  • If you have a medical emergency from smoke, you should call 911 or go to the hospital emergency room immediately.
