If you are looking for up to date information about wildfires, there are several online resources:

• Regional information about current wildfires can be found on the Public Alerts Wildfire page.
• The State of Oregon has compiled a page for Oregon Wildfire Resources and hosts a dashboard for Fires and Hotspots with an interactive map. They also have statewide evacuation information.
• Inciweb has information about wildfires across the United States.
• Multnomah County's Smoke and Wildfire page contains information and resources for smoke and air quality.

Evacuation Levels - what they mean and how to prepare

During a wildfire, three levels of evacuation are used: Level 1 - Get Ready; Level 2 - Be Set; and Level 3 - Go!

It's helpful to familiarize yourself with what these different levels mean and what you can do to prepare yourself and your family for evacuation. A detailed explanation of each evacuation level (with recommended actions you can take), can be found on publicalerts.org/evacuation, or you can view and print this downloadable informational sheet (this document is being translated into multiple languages)

  (4.42 MB) was written with a focus on homeowners and communities in Josephine County in SW Oregon, but it is full of good information that is applicable for any rural area with little fire protection. The NFPA's Firewise program teaches people how to adapt to living with wildfire and encourages neighbors to work together and take action now to prevent losses.
