Online Property Tax Payments

Guide to paying your property taxes online or over the phone using our third party payment service

Property tax payments are due November 15, 2024. Oregon state law establishes the property tax payment deadlines and requires interest to be charged on properties with delinquent tax amounts. Multnomah County does not have the authority to waive interest charges as a result of late property tax payments, and the Oregon State Legislature has not, at this time, extended the property tax deadline.

Multnomah County recommends making your property tax payment online, with one of our payment drop boxes, via your bank or credit union, or through the mail.

If you must make an in-person tax payment, DART offices will be open October 16th through November 15th to accept payments on a limited basis. No other services will be provided.

Point and Pay Services

Multnomah County has partnered with Point and Pay, to make paying online by electronic check, credit or debit card and over the phone quicker and more convenient.

Electronic and Phone Options:

Online with a Debit or Credit Card - Convenience fees apply.

Pay by Phone and Personal Teller Option:

Note: Electronic and phone payments must be electronically delivered by 11:59 p.m. on the due date to be considered timely.

24-hour Payment Drop Box

A payment drop box is available at the Multnomah Building 501 SE Hawthorne Blvd., Portland, OR 97214. Checks only, no cash! Items placed in the drop box will be processed the next business day.

Paying by Mail

Mailed payments must be postmarked on or before November 15th, 2024. Make checks payable to Multnomah County Tax Collector.

Note: Postal delays may cause issues with your postmark. Consider using our electronic or dropbox options.

Payment overview

Property tax statements are mailed before October 25 each year. Payments are due November 15. If the 15th falls on the weekend, payment is due the next business day. You can pay in up to 3 installments due in November, February and May.

See the Property tax payment FAQs for more information including due dates, discounts, and interest.

Your mortgage company may be responsible for making your tax payment. If your property tax bill is yellow, it means a mortgage company or senior/disabled citizen deferral program has requested tax information to pay your tax bill. Check with your mortgage company or the senior/disabled citizen deferral program if you have questions.
