This edition outlines the milestones for the FY 2027 budget cycle, highlighting the February 6th deadline for department requests and the schedule for upcoming public hearings. This edition details various opportunities for community engagement, including the Chair's virtual town hall on February 7th. In response to recent survey feedback, the Budget Office has implemented several process improvements, such as shortening program offers to a single page and launching the budget cycle two weeks earlier. Additionally, the bulletin provides technical guidance for the Questica budgeting software and introduces Brooke Chilton-Timmons as the new Senior Budget Analyst for the Homeless Services Department.
This edition officially kicks off the FY 2027 budget process. Get the first look at the earlier FY 2027 timeline and major changes to budget documents, including the new one-page Program Offer and required Equity Statement. Important dates, like the "Big Release" of budget materials on November 21st and the Budget Kickoff meeting on December 3rd.
