Benefits by Bargaining Unit or Employee Group

While Multnomah County plans are very similar across employee groups, there are a few differences. Select your employee group below to review the specific benefits available to you:

New Hire Benefit Enrollment in Workday

In Workday, you will select your desired medical/dental coverage, optional plans, and assign your life insurance beneficiary or beneficiaries. You must enroll within 31 days of hire or you will be enrolled in the default Moda plan/s as determined by your employee group and FTE.

  1. Look in your Workday inbox for your Benefit task. It will be labeled “Benefit Change: New Hire” or “Benefit Change: Employment Status Change to Regular.” If you are a rehire and do not have a benefit task, please reach out to us.
  2. Click on the Let’s Get Started button.
  3. Select Manage to choose the plans you want to enroll in.
  4. If you are enrolling a spouse or domestic partner, you must submit this short online form:  Affidavit of Marriage or Domestic Partnership. Note: This form cannot be submitted prior to your first day. On or soon after your first day, you will be sent a reminder email if this form hasn’t been submitted.
  5. If you have other qualifying medical coverage, you may opt out of enrolling in County medical coverage and will instead receive a credit in lieu of coverage.
    • You must submit this online form: Opt Out Affidavit.
    • Examples of qualifying coverage include: Medicare, Medicaid (OHP & Apple Health), VA coverage, TriCare coverage, coverage through a parent or spouse, and other large group or employer sponsored coverage.
    • Marketplace coverage is not qualifying coverage.
    • If your other coverage ends mid-year, you do not have to wait until open enrollment to enroll in a County medical plan. Contact us as soon as you know your coverage will be ending for direction.

Benefits start on the first of the month on or following Workday enrollment and submission of all required affidavits.
