Legal services
Community members may consider enrolling in Equity Corps of Oregon (ECO) for free immigration legal services. Visit equitycorps.org/eco to learn more. You can also call the statewide ECO Call Center at 1-888-274-7292. It is open Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call to start an enrollment application, get an update on your case or get a referral for services.
Make a family plan
A family plan can help you and your children feel safer in case of unexpected separation. The Oregon Law Center has easy-to-follow guidance in both English and Spanish. Taking these steps can help prepare your family if parents or caregivers are detained, deported, or are unable to care for their child for any other reason.
Topics include:
- Which documents to have prepared and who to share copies with
- Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, and Passport resources
- Legal forms and instructions
- Phrases you need to know
- Your rights and helpful responses to questions
How to find someone detained by ICE
The ICE detainee locator may be used to find someone in ICE custody. Searches can be conducted A-number, or by name and country of birth. The A-number can be found on paperwork from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
The PIRC Resource Center is available for people who are either looking for a detained loved one/support for a detention or who have ICE check-ins. View this flyer for more information in English and Spanish.
