We understand that the uncertainty and fear from the increase in federal immigration enforcement activity may lead to many Multnomah County Community Health Center patients choosing to skip travel to an appointment at one of our clinics. Multnomah County Community Health Center is committed to making sure our essential healthcare services remain as accessible as possible under the circumstances. Please check out our Community Health Center website to learn more about how to establish care and our services we offer. An alternative option to in-person appointments

Your safety is our priority. If you believe traveling to a clinic for your appointment will be unsafe, please contact the Patient Access Center at 503-988-5558 to see if your appointment is eligible for a video telehealth visit.

What we’re doing to help keep people safe
- We do not voluntarily share patient information with immigration officials (ICE) or cooperate with enforcement actions unless legally compelled to do so. Our County Attorneys will assess each case.
- Our Community Health Center clinics have specific escalation protocols in place, ensuring County staff know exactly how to respond if immigration officials enter the property. That includes not authorizing federal immigration to access areas generally inaccessible to the public, including exam rooms and offices.
- We are currently performing on-site safety drills to make sure our staff stay ready for any scenario.
However, there are several things we can’t guarantee:
- We cannot ensure your security and safety on the roads or public transit on your way to an appointment.
- We cannot physically stop agents from entering the building. However, we have specific escalation protocols in place for when immigration agents enter the property.
