Effective, Accountable County Government
For Our Community and Our Families

Dear Neighbor,
When you elected me to the Multnomah County Commission four years ago, my goal was to make County government more functional, more accountable and more focused on the needs of people. As the government most directly responsible for the health and safety of our community's families, that is especially critical in these tough economic times.

We've made good progress:

Ending Dysfunctional Government – The County Commission is working together collaboratively, moving our community forward

Helping Small Businesses – Lowered county taxes for small businesses and start ups.

Leading on Sustainability and Green Jobs – Utilized rooftops of county buildings to create one of the Northwest's largest solar power plants without cost to county taxpayers. In fact, it will save the county thousands of dollars annually in lower energy costs.

Keeping Families Safe and Healthy – Partnered with the City and provided the site to create a new 1-stop center for Domestic Violence Victims; helped protect SUN Schools , early childhood programs and School-based Health Centers.

I have worked hard to make Multnomah County Government more financially stable in the face of a difficult funding environment, while strengthening the public's voice in our decision making.

I am running for Multnomah County Chair to continue that progress, keep the focus on serving people and ensuring your county government reflects the value and priorities of our community.

I would appreciate your support and your vote.

Sincerely,
Jeff Cogen
